TAEQ’s research and teaching initiatives are headquartered in the Green Building, an eco-friendly structure created with support from the BERACHA Foundation.
Built from natural and local raw materials, and incorporating energy and water saving elements, the Green Building demonstrates construction principles that reduce environmental impact while providing comfortable conditions in both summer and winter. Outfitted with wind and solar generators, the building draws only a minimal amount of electricity from the local power grid.
The Green Building is a walk-through laboratory, where students investigate green engineering principles by comparing them to adjacent reference buildings designed according to conventional methods.
