Water conservation is vital in the arid Middle East, and TAEQ is contributing to the effort through a unique educational facility related to wastewater treatment.
Established through the sponsorship of the European Union’s LIFE program and implemented in cooperation with Istanbul Technical University of Turkey, the LIPEC facility supports environmental education training for teachers, independent research projects for Israeli high school students, and academic research by graduate students visiting from Turkey. 
The 2,500 square meter facility boasts an impressive laboratory infrastructure that TAEQ researchers use for finding low-cost and effective methods for improving wastewater treatment in rural areas.
